Petrolwatch Singapore

Petrolwatch Singapore was an excellent site for drivers when it functioned as a consolidation site that highlighted the latest pump prices of Esso, Shell, Caltex and SPC. However, in many recent months, the Administrator for Petrolwatch Singapore has became very slow in updating fuel pricing information. The latest petrol prices these days can usually be found from the comments section instead. The comments from drivers has been bordering on frustration since the site Administrator sometimes takes weeks to update the main information and people are not always able to scan through the long lists of comments to find the latest prices. The poor management of information on Petrolwatch Singapore is likely going to lead to the site's demise as better sites pop up to address the current deficiencies. Any new sites in the works better latch on to the realisation that the most efficient means to get updates will be via crowd sourcing and empower those with the latest information to

申東靖 (Arroy Shen) Dies of Brain Hemorrhage

Shocking news! Just saw a report that 申東靖 (Arroy Shen) is dead! source Only aged 29, the ex-Comic Boyz member reportedly underwent a high-risk surgery to remove a blood clot in his brain recently and end up in a coma after the operation due to a lack of oxygen in his brain. This subsequently turned into a right brain hemorrhage that led to acute renal failure. As Arroy's parents divorced shortly after he was born, he was placed under his grandma’s care whom he form a close relationship to. The death of her grandchild must be a great blow to the 86-year-old grandmother. While he might not have been an artiste that I personally follow, to know that the cheerful bubbly character whom I see on Taiwanese variety shows at times has passed away at such a young age is still extremely disturbing. Must remember to treasure life for life can be really short if fate dictates so.

Apple Losing Its Edge

The Apple event on 23 Oct 2012 launched a smaller iPad known as the iPad Mini, the 4th generation iPad on top of other refreshed products like the Mac mini, Macbook Pro and iMac. The iPad Mini was obviously the star of the event which everyone was eagerly anticipating. The biggest news perhaps is that it packs a 7.9-inch, 1,024 x 768 screen - the same resolution as the full size iPad 2. The pricing for the ipad mini is high. For the Wi-Fi only models, prices start at US$329 for 16GB going up to $529 for the 64GB model. Compare this to iPad2 which starts at US$399 for 16GB... Apple obviously has many loyal supporters whom have chosen to use Apple products for years despite the premium (read more expensive) prices. This group is still likely to bite for the iPad mini that Apple just launched. However, the consumer market today for computing tablets is no longer the same as when Apple initially revolutionised with its first mover iPad device. Steve Jobs had famously said that in h
